Super K....

Here is my super hero. He swiped Snow White's cape and turned it into his super hero cape. Snow White was in agreement so there was no fuss. He has worn this cape to and from school, on the playground, to the grocery store and many more places. Not only is he a super hero when he wears this, he is also Grumpy from Snow White. Funny how he chose Grumpy out of all the Seven Dwarfs! He sings Hi-Ho, Hi-Ho, It's Off to Work We Go..... pretty much all day. I managed to video tape it the other day. Good material for the rehearsal dinner!

I will leave you with "Hi Ho, Hi Ho, It's Off to Bed I Go..."
Enjoy your weekend.

My New Old Table

Ok, I know I promised I would be back in a day. Life just gets busy.
I got my sandpaper out and voila! This is just my style. I love things that look like they have been roughed up. This little table is going to head east. I have the perfect corner for it.

I am glad I took the risk with the paint.

Dad, if you are reading this....yes, this was Nanny's table. Not sure if she would have
liked the blue but I know she would have liked me having fun with it.

Hmm, what else can I paint?

Happy Spring!

A little paint job

Like I said in the previous post, I had a little helper with a paint job.
I inherited this antique table from my grandmother when she moved into an assistant living home. I have 2 of them and a coffee table to match. I love painted furniture but I have never been risky with color. I have noticed that I love turquoise painted furniture. Very beachy!

I thought I would take the risk and paint this table. I am not sure if there are peep holes in heaven, but if there are, I am sure my grandmother was saying "WHAT is she about to do!!!"

I picked out aqua spray paint and started spraying. Did I mention that I forgot to put primer on. The paint was running everywhere! Back to Home Depot for primer! I am not a perfectionist so it did not have to be perfect but I would like for the paint to stay on.

I know, I know....it is really bright and kind of looks like Carolina Blue. We are Tarheel fans but I don't want my furniture to be Carolina Blue. Hmmm, what to do? Come back tomorrow and see what a little sandpaper does.

Have a great day.

Happy Hump Day

We are still here! Just been doing the everyday thing with a few colds and stomach bugs in between.
However, I did accomplish a few projects. I even had a little helper! Come back in a few days and see what we did.
Happy Hump Day!

Just For You, Tyree

The other day, I walked in Bailey's room after she had her quiet time. I found this. I immediately thought, "Aunt Tyree would be proud of you." Aunt Tyree loved her Barbies growing up.

I loved how Bailey had set this up. Looks like a girlfriends lunch to me! It reminded me of Tyree and I having lunch. Tyree is more than a sister-in-law, she is a great friend. She is the one I can call up if I am in tears. She is the one I call for mommy advice. She is the one who will pray. She always has encouraging and truthful words.

So Tyree, this post is just for you!!! Just wanted to know how much I love ya! I wish we could have lunch together tomorrow.

Oh, Tyree is the taller one and I am the smaller one. She is like the big sister!

She gave it another try

I wanted to give an update from yesterday. I could not leave you thinking that my kids had a horrible time in the snow yesterday. Bailey prayed last night that she would have a better day in the snow.
This morning we bundled up again and gave it another try. They loved it. The smile on her face was priceless. We had so much fun! It was a great day.

Oh, I forgot to tell you yesterday that in the midst of all the crafts and playing, I did some major cleaning out. If you live near me and want to look through my stuff you are more than welcome. Everything is free! There is a brand new espresso machine and lots of home decor. Just let me know if you want to swing by the house once the snow melts. It will all be going to goodwill in about a week or so.

Have a great day!

A Full Day!

You may want to grab your beverage of choice and a snack for this post. It has been a busy day which means LOTS of pictures! I recently purchased (after I returned Aperture 2. Good product but not what I was looking for.) a 50mm 1.8 fixed lens. My sweet friend who loves her camera just as much as I do, talked me into this lens. I absolutely love using it inside. Today, I got to play around with it while the kids played inside.

So let's start the day. It started snowing last night. The kids were SO excited. I bought sleds yesterday and they were ready to go. We woke up to a winter wonderland. It continued to snow/rain/sleet this morning so we waited to go outside. The kids decided they wanted to paint. I had a cardboard package that we decided to turn into a puppet show theater.

We had paint EVERYWHERE......

including our hands, clothes, new chair covers (don't ask me why I did not take them off before they started painting). It was everywhere but the kids were having fun.

We bundled all up to go outside. I think it took us longer to bundle up than it did for us to play in the snow.

Camera lens change!

This little guy loved the sled. He had a smile from ear to ear.

The big guy loved it just as much.

This cautious little girl DID NOT like it. She was all disturbed because she got snow up her sleeve.

The sleet was coming down, kids were crying, snot was flying, frustration was building....it was time to go in the house. We were outside all of 30 minutes! Like I said it took longer to get dress.

Tears were still coming from the little female in the house. Just like a girl. She was just so sad. She finally said, "I am so sad because I thought it was going to be fun like last year. Can we still make snow ice cream?" Of course, we will make snow ice cream. It's a tradition!

Camera lens change!

Recipe: Clean snow (Daddy has taught them to NEVER eat yellow snow. ha)
milk
sugar
vanilla
Mix until it taste yummy

Already feeling better.

The puppet show is about the begin. Everyone take your seats.

There once was a bunny and the big giant tried to get the bunny but the bunny got away. The end.

I know, I know. This is a long post. Take one more sip of your beverage. This is the picture of the day!

I think I am ready for a nap! Stay Warm!
