Georgia Not On My Mind...

How to do digital templates in on my mind right now.  Soooo, I went to a class last night.  My friend from The Lord Family  taught us a thing or two about using digital templates for scrapbooking.  I think Heather is the most creative person I know.  It was a fun class. Not only did I get to use my mommy mush brain again but I got to learn along with some friends.  My friend at New Every Morning was there.  Her blog is a must read.  Full of stories of faith, mommy stories, decorating, etc.  My friend Ginger was also at the class.  She doesn't have a blog but SHOULD.  A cup of coffee with Ginger will save you hours and money with a counselor.  She is FULL of encouragement, wisdom and love.  Let's see...what could we name Ginger's Blog?  Hmmmm...Not sure but I will be thinking.

Now back to the post.... I came home and tried the template.  I was able to do the first page with just a few little minor problems but I got it done.  I was feeling like a pro and thought I would move on to the 2nd page of the templete.  I am STUCK!!  Now I know why Heather said we will be having another class in 2 weeks to work on the second page.

I thought I would post the first page but you will have to wait for the second page.  I know you will be holding your breath.  Now, you will probably look at the page and think what is the big deal.  Most of the time, I like my scrapbook pages very simple.  Therefore, I deleted some of the template.  Hey, it took a few brain cells to figure out how to delete some of the template and how to change the background color.

Drum Roll Please.......Ta Da (as Keenan says all the time) my first templete scrapbook page!

Georgia on My Mind

A few weeks ago the kids and I spent some time in Georgia.  It is always good to go back to my home town.  I get to see family and friends and go to some of my favorite places.  We enjoyed brunch with family one morning.  Here are a few pics of the gang.

The above picture is my dad and stepmom with the kids.  I will have to remember to take more pictures at this angle.  I like it because it is a little different than taking one head on.  Not sure if that is a photography term but it is a "Boo" term.

The is my stepsister, Robin with her tall guys...her husband and son.  Aren't they tall?

Robin is all into running these days.  Go Robin Go!  Maybe I will get the itch to run.  Or not!

It was great seeing you while I was in Georgia!

Happy July 4th!

I am so thankful to live in the U.S.A!  Our country is not perfect by a long shot but we still have many things to be thankful for. Happy Independence Day!

Reminders of Summer

There are lots of things that remind me of my childhood summers.  We loved playing in the sprinkler to cool off from hot summer days.
It is fun watching the kids having a blast with a baby pool and a water hose.  There are lots of squeals and laughter in our backyard.

Another summertime memory is catching fire flies at night.  We would catch them and put them in a mason jar to watch them light up.  No bugs harmed.  The kids have enjoyed staying up a little later to catch fire flies.  They even named the two that they caught.  Charlotte and Marshall were with us for a day.  May they rest in peace.

What is your favorite childhood memory of summer?  Enjoy lazy days and late evenings.

Bailey the Ballerina

She is off to her first ballet class!!  She has been looking forward to this for a very long time.  We decided to do a ballet class this summer.  Our little ballerina was thrilled about her outfit and ballet slippers.  She was so excited that she did not even look back when the teacher led them to their class.  The best part of class is that she gets to take it with a friend.  It is all about having fun!

Toes in the Sand

Ahhh...sand between our toes.  There is nothing like it.

We enjoyed a week at the beach with family.  Lots of relaxation.  The kids loved the sand.  It was the very first time that we did not have screaming, tears, gagging, snot flowing, etc from our Bailey Boo.  Now it is B for Brave Bailey.  She was so proud that she got over her fear of the beach and really enjoyed it.  She even got her ankles wet.  And Keenan loved it soooo much that he got a major diaper rash.  Poor little fellow.  So here are a few pics.  I will have to say that I need to work on my focal point.  Several of my pics were out of focus in the face.  So when color or focus is not just right....turn them into black and white.  As Bailey would say...I made a rhyme.

I shot this same pose last year and it gave me an idea.  I can shoot a picture like this every year.  I can only imagine what they will be like when they are 14 and 16.  And I can hear it now, "Mom, do we have to do this every year?"

Keenan taking it all in.

The kids had so much fun with their cousins.  It was hard saying goodbye.

I hope you get to put your toes in some sand this summer!

You Know Your Little Guy Is Not Ready When.....

You know your little guy is not ready to potty train when......

he pulls up his shirt and points to his belly button and says "Pee Pee, Poopie like Elmo and Daddy."  I will just leave you with that laugh of the day.

Have a great day!
