Ride "Em Cowgirl!

A few weeks ago we inherited the rocky horse that Scott had when he was a little boy.  According to Scott's mom, he would ride it until he fell asleep on it.  The horse has been at Maw Maw and Paw Paw's but they decided it would get more use living with us.  Well they were absolutely right.  The kids ride it everyday.  So I decided to take it outside and of course we needed a hat to go with it.  I did not get any photos of Keenan on it because I could not hold him and take a picture.  But once he starts holding on there will be plenty of pictures.  Not sure what Keenan is doing in this picture.  He is either trying to be a horse or the grass was really itchy.

Happy Birthday Keenan and Bailey

Happy Birthday!

We celebrated the Bailey and Keenan's birthday this past weekend.  Keenan loved his first cupcake and Bailey was excited about turning 3.  Thanks to my sweet friend Christy, they had matching outfits.

Turtle Time

Starting Turtle Time!!  I am looking forward to a slower pace this summer.  Our free days will bring lazy mornings, playing outside until dark and who knows what between the two.

I took this picture in our backyard this morning.  We had fun watching the turtle in the grass and then it walked SLOWLY back to the creek.  So I hope we have a turtle's pace this summer.

Rain boots

You never know when you may need your rain boots!  We definitely did not get much wear out of the rain boots due to our recent drought.  But who needs rain to wear your boots.  That is what I love about kids.  They are in their own little world....a world where it does not matter what you are wearing, what is smeared across your face, a world where it does not matter that you have half of your lunch on your shirt.  So pull out your rain boots on a sunny day and have fun!

Bye Bye Binkie

Bailey was ready to give up her binkie (aka..pacifier) but I am not sure if I was ready.  Mom came to visit on Wednesday.  We were teasing Bailey that she could give her binkie to Gee and she could take it back to her house.  She said that she wanted to.  Nothing else was said.  So today when mom told Bailey that she was going home, Bailey immediately said "Don't forget my binkie".  Bailey put it in mom's suitcase and waved goodbye to it.  I always thought I would be ready for this but I actually got tears in my eyes when she waved goodbye to it.  There were a few tears later at nap time and bedtime but she will get through it.  Just another step towards being a big girl!

Happy Mother's Day

Hi to all my friends who are mothers.  Most of you were mothers long before me and I can not express enough how much your example has encouraged me in my own days of motherhood.  I praise God that He gave me women in my life who are years ahead of me with motherhood and women who are right at the same stage with me.

I think of my own mother and the sacrifices she made for me and my brother.  She made our home a safe and loving place.  Home was the most secure place for me.

I hope you enjoy your day however you spend it.  My honey is planning a nice lunch and is taking care of everything.  What a guy!

Happy Mother's Day!
Hope you enjoy this picture.  I took it this past week at Bald Head Island.  More pictures to follow!!
